Talbert House’s Institute for Training and Development (ITD) is focused on developing and delivering high-quality training and educational programs to the behavioral health community, both within and outside of Talbert House. The ITD focuses on clinical and professional development for those working in mental health, substance use, corrections, and other professional settings. Our staff is well-educated and experienced in the field and can offer content and real-world applications to enhance the educational experience.
The Institute for Training and Development is a provider of Continuing Education credits by the following professional organizations:
- Ohio Psychological Association
- Ohio Chemical Dependency Professional Board
- Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family Therapist Board
- National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC)
These offerings ensure that professionals in the field receive the education and skills needed to excel in their careers and provide the highest level of care.
Customized Training
ITD contracts with behavioral health agencies, local businesses, universities and large corporations to deliver customized trainings to meet their individual needs. Topics include: Drug Free Workplace, Counselor and Social Work Ethics and Advanced Ethics, Motivational Interviewing and Crisis De-escalation. Trainings can be delivered at Talbert House or your organization. Our trainers can help you identify the perfect eductional training. ITD has worked with many organizations including the following:

Where are the trainings located?
Most training sessions take place at our Tilow Executive Center located at 2600 Victory Parkway, Cincinnati OH 45206 unless otherwise specified. Parking is available in the south lot on William Howard Taft between Ashland and Victory Parkway, just south of the main office building. The lot is designated “St. Anthony of Padua Church” and the entrance is at mid-block, on your left.
How do I register for a training at Talbert House?

View the Training Calendar and select which training you want by clicking on the time block. At the bottom of the training description, click Continue With Registration. Complete the form to reserve your space in that class. Once submitted, you will be prompted for payment.
How can I pay for my training?
Option 1: Payment by debit or credit card is accepted through the registration process.
Option 2: If you wish to pay by check or money order, enter the promo code paybycheck during the registration and you will receive an automatic invoice. You can mail your payment to: Talbert House - ITD, 2600 Victory Parkway, Cincinnati, Ohio 45206, or you can pay in person at the time of your training. Please make checks payable to "Talbert House ITD".
Payment is due by the start of the training session.
What is the cancellation and refund policy?
You may cancel and request a refund via email to ITD.registrations@talberthouse.org up to 7 days before the day of the training, unless another time frame is stipulated in the training description. If you cannot attend, you may send a substitute to take the training in your place. Please contact us to identify your substitute (CEU credit awarded for training will be issued to the attendee). The full invoice amount is due for late cancellations (less than 7 calendar days before training), or if you fail to attend a training for which you have registered.

The most up to date listing of trainings is located on our registration website. If you are interested in a particular training and do not see it, email ITD.registrations@talberthouse.org.
Talbert House has been approved by NBCC as an approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 5820. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. Talbert House is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.
