How to Join the Hamilton County Youth Employment Program
HCYE is launching its summer employment program, providing youth with opportunities in areas like recreation, technology, agriculture, and communications. Follow these steps to begin your journey toward employment and skill development.

NOTE: You must complete all three steps to qualify for summer employment.
Step 1: Beginning March 1, 2025 - Check Your Eligibility
Complete the Eligibility Form - Click here to access the form
- Click on Eligibility Application
- In the “YEP Partner” section (top left), select “Talbert House” from the dropdown menu.
- In the “Eligibility Criterium” section (near the bottom), identify a barrier to employment (e.g., lack of experience, age, scheduling). This field must be completed.
Step 2: Beginning March 1, 2025 - Enroll in the Program

- Program forms are required to participate in paid training opportunities
- Ensure all sections of the packet are fully completed
- For youth under 18, a parent or guardian must sign and submit the forms
Step 3: Beginning April 3, 2025 - Get Hired
Gather Hire Session Documents
- All youth must present two valid forms of identification, such as a government-issued ID and a Social Security card, to be eligible for hire. Click here to see the list of acceptable IDs.
- Obtain a Work Permit (Youth ages 14-15)
- Download the permit application forms here.
- Complete both forms.
- Submit the forms to your school to exchange them for an official Work Permit.
Attend a Hire Session
- Choose a session from the schedule provided below.
- Bring two valid forms of identification.
- Bring your work permit (if required).
- Youth under 18 must attend with a parent or guardian.
Important: Youth without proper identification or a valid work permit will need to attend another session to complete the hiring process.

Hamilton County Youth Employment (HCYE) is a year-round initiative aimed at empowering youth aged 14-21. By helping them explore various career paths and connect with employers offering long-term opportunities, HCYE breaks down employment barriers. The program provides Hamilton County youth with necessary tools and support to successfully launch their careers and thrive in the workforce.
