Talbert House Opens Permanent Supportive Housing Site in Roselawn
CINCINNATI – Summit Apartments, a Talbert House permanent supportive housing site, will soon welcome tenants into the building at 1579 Summit Road in Roselawn. In partnership with Model Group, the former single-story school building was reconfigured into 58 one and two-bedroom apartments intended to serve individuals and families with disabilities who are experiencing homelessness or are at risk of becoming homeless.
The building is complete with community spaces, laundry facilities and ample off-street parking. Thanks to generous donors, each household will be provided with a welcome kit including kitchen essentials, new linens, towels, pillows and other helpful items to welcome families to their new homes. Talbert House will offer wraparound services and resources to each tenant.
“There is a huge unmet need for supportive housing in the community,” said Jessica Powell, Vice President of Talbert House’s Housing Service Line. “With community support, we were able to come together to make this development a reality and provide 58 households a safe place to call home.”
The development of Summit Apartments was made possible through collaboration and funding from Cincinnati Metropolitan Housing Authority, Federal Home Loan Bank, Hamilton County Mental Health and Recovery Services Board, Heritage Bank, Model Group, Ohio Capital Corporation for Housing, Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addictions Services, Ohio Housing Finance Agency, River Hills Bank, Roselawn Community Council, Strategies to End Homelessness and Talbert House Board Members, donors and staff.
